Horemheb´s tomb

Horemheb, wearing the kilt with a centre piece but of an ochre colour, meets with Isis, who has her normal name hieroglyph on top of her black wig. Her dress is plain, white and sleeveless. He worships her the customary 4 times, so that she will "treat him like Ra".

Younger Lady

Younger Lady Mummy" found in tomb KV35. This image clearly displays the damage thought to be done by ancient tomb robbers (right arm torn from body, chest caved in) and what is now thought to have been a lethal injury to the left cheek/jaw. Image derived from Grafton Elliot Smith's "The Royal Mummies" (Plate XCIX), which was first published in 1912. The author died in 1937 so the book/image is in the public domain. Recent genetic tests have conclusively demonstrated that this individual was the mother of Tutankhaum. The JAMA eSupplement from Feb. 17, 2010 concludes that "The statistical analysis revealed that the mummy KV55 is most probably the father of Tutankhamun (probability of 99.99999981%), and KV35 Younger Lady could be identified as his mother (99.99999997%)." (eSupplement, p.3).

Relief fragment of the Agathos Daimon

Relief fragment of the Agathos Daimon
The snake god Agathos Daimon is represented as a grim-looking, coiling uraeus, wearing the Double Crown and a peculiar beard. In his coils are an ear of corn (on the left), and a lotus and a lotus flower and bud (on the right).
The snake is executed in very high relief, the attributes are less high.

Relief fragment with man leading a calf

Relief fragment with man leading a calf
The fragment shows the fringe of a kilt and the legs of a man with exceptionally long feet. The fringe of another part of his short kilt is just visible. The slender legs overlap a male calf on a rope. The calf has some kind of flower around its neck, possibly a bulrush bud. Part of a bag(?) carried by the preceding figure is visible. Calf and feet walk on a base line. The representation is finely executed in high relief.

Group statue of Pepi and Ra-shepses

Group statue of Pepi and Ra-shepses
The large, dominant figure in the centre of this group statue is that of Pepi. She is embracing her slightly smaller husband in a gesture which is quite common in group statues. Her son is standing on her other side, represented nude and wearing the sidelock which is typical for children. He has his arm around her back. The high artistic quality of the group is apparent from the well-preserved face of the man.
