BUTCHER'S SHOP (MODEL)
This
relief of wood dating from the 1st Intermediate Period or the Middle
Kingdom represents a butchery scene. The butcher on the right is
probably holding a knife in his left hand to cut the throat of the ox
lying on its left side or to cut up and dismember the right rear leg of
the animal, the choice piece in funerary offerings.
