Faience tile depicting a Libyan prisoner, created in Egypt about 1184 to 1153 BC. Found at Tell el-Yahudiya. Faience is a tin-based enamel used to glaze earthenware. This particular tile depicts a dark-skinned Libyan with lock of hair and bound hands. This tile was part of the throne of Ramses III; when the pharaoh was seated on the throne, he could magically control foreign lands.
