Wooden sculpture of Queen Tiye, mother of Akhenaten, in the form of Taweret, protector of women in childbirth. Taweret was a hippopotamus deity, here represented as a composite figure with human face, and a crocodile skin at the back. Country of Origin: Egypt. Culture: Ancient Egyptian.
