NECKLACE

Reconstructed necklace composed essentially of thick, disc-shaped beads of turquoise-blue enamel and five groups of disc-shaped beads of ostrich eggshell - three in the centre and two at the extremities. Disc-shaped beads of blue enamel and of ostrich eggshell are found in great quantities in Nubian burials of the 3rd and 2nd millennia B.C., when they were used to create necklaces, bracelets, belts and decorative motifs for clothing.
