Maya y Merit
Double statue of Maya and his wife Merit waiting for a sacrificial meal and wearing their finest clothing. Maya was a minister under Tutnakhamun and Horemheb. The statue was meant to be a dwelling for their ka, a complicated concept in Ancient Egyptian religion, which can be associated with the western concept of the soul. Country of Origin: Egypt.
