Small single-handled jar

Small single-handled jar, with a ring-shaped base and ovoid body, and a straight neck with a convex lip. The body is covered with a pattern of incised chevrons and triangles, arranged in two superposed bands. These patterns themselves contain further impressed marks, in which there are traces of white fabric. This type of vase is termed 'Tell el-Yahudieh ware', from the name of a site in the Nile Delta, and is frequently found on sites with Hyksos populations; it was often im...itated in, or imported into, Upper Nubia.
